the glory of the father
We serve a glorious God and we are created in His image, crowned with glory and honour. As believers in Christ Jesus, we have the mandate of walking in God's plans and purposes to the end that we might show forth the glory of the Father. God the Father, who is our Father, is the Father of glory (Ephesians 1:17) and by the law of reproduction, we are the offspring of His glory. We are destined for the radiation and reflection of God's glory. We are the extension of God's glory by redemption. We are redeemed unto glory. The new birth is the birth of the saints from the lifestyle of shame and reproach unto the new life of glory.
The life of sin is that of death, shame and reproach.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is DEATH ......
Proverbs 14:34
.... sin is a REPROACH to any people.
Romans 6:20-21
[20]For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
[21]What fruit had ye then in those things whereof YE ARE NOW ASHAMED ? for the end of those things is death.
At redemption from sin, we have eternal life, glory and virtue. Redemption is a call unto glory and virtue.
2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath CALLED US TO GLORY AND VIRTUE :
The new birth experience is redemption from death, shame and reproach unto eternal life and glory.
Jesus Christ came to redeem mankind from the grip of death (characterised by shame and reproach) unto eternal life, the life of glory.
When Jesus Christ died on account of our sins, we died with Him but when He arose from the dead we were risen with Him.
1 Peter 1:3
[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
We were born again unto a new life when Jesus Christ was risen from the dead. The victory of Jesus Christ over death is our victory.
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead was made possible by the glory of the Father.
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is the power that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead.
Romans 6:4
[4]Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as CHRIST WAS RAISED UP FROM THE DEAD BY THE GLORY OF THE FATHER , even so we also should walk in newness of life.
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is God's exceeding great power and God's mighty power of resurrection.
Ephesians 1:19-20
[19]And what is the EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his MIGHTY POWER ,
[20]WHICH HE WROUGHT IN CHRIST , WHEN HE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD , and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
It is the superlative dimension of God's power ever wielded. It is God's most superior power.
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is the power of resurrection.
Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION , and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is God's glorious power.
Colossians 1:11
[11]Strengthened with all might, according to his GLORIOUS POWER, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is the Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:11
[11]But if THE SPIRIT OF HIM THAT RAISED UP JESUS FROM THE DEAD dwell in you, HE THAT RAISED UP CHRIST FROM THE DEAD shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
It is the Spirit that raised up Jesus and He that raised up Christ from the dead.
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is the quickening Spirit of God. It is the life-giving Spirit of God.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth......
1 Corinthians 15:45
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a QUICKENING SPIRIT .
THE GLORY OF THE FATHER is the power that raised up Jesus and the believers alike.
1 Corinthians 6:14
And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
The list continues in the scriptures. In summary, the glory of the Father is synonymous with the power of God.
WALKING IN God's PLANS AND PURPOSES : THE MASTER KEY TO THE GLORY OF THE FATHER.
The glory of the Father is tied to the plans and purposes of the Father for His own. Until we are aligned to God's plans and purposes, His glory cannot be experienced.
Jesus Christ is a perfect example of one who came to do the will of God and saw the glory of God.
Hebrews 10:7
[7]Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Jesus Christ came to do the will of God (plans and purposes for Him).
The death, burial, resurrection, ascension and enthronement of Jesus are as written concerning him.
John 17:4
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Jesus Christ glorified God on the earth by finishing the assignment given to Him by God.
On account of following God's plans and purposes for His life on the earth, Jesus Christ asked God to glorify Him.
John 17:5
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
The glory of the Father answers to the plans and purposes of the Father.
John 12:28
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
The essence of God's glory is to see Himself glorified in the lives of His own. The glory of the Father is for the advancement of the His plans and purposes.
SUFFERING PRECEDES GLORY.
Every manifestation of glory is preceded by suffering. There is no glory without suffering.
1 Peter 1:11
[11] Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand THE SUFFERINGS OF CHRIST , AND THE GLORY THAT SHOULD FOLLOW .
Seasons of glory is sequel to the seasons of suffering.
Sufferings prepare us for perfection in glory.
Hebrews 2:10
[10] For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to MAKE THE CAPTAIN OF THEIR SALVATION PERFECT THROUGH SUFFERINGS .
Sufferings are pathways to perfection in glory.
It is only those who suffered with Christ that will reign with Him in glory.
It is therefore expedient that we endure all things(sufferings) for the sake of the glory that lies ahead.
2 Timothy 2:10-12
[10] Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
[11] It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
[12] If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Our salvation comes with eternal glory and to this end, we must endure all things. It is only those who endures to the end that will be saved. If we die with Jesus, we will also live with Him and if we suffer with Him, we will reign with him.
Sufferings will come to try our faith but it will end in praise, honour and glory.
1 Peter 1:7
[7]That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Sufferings will end in glory if we will endure to the end.
In conclusion, the arsenal of hell cannot withstand nor contend against the weight of glory ordained for the believer. The affliction of the believer meant for evil by the enemy is not meant to last and will eventually turn out for the good of the believer whose focus is not on the sufferings but on the glory.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
[17]For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
[18]While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
No affliction from the pit of hell can stand on the way of the weight of the glory God is working out for us. We are not to be ashamed when we suffer affliction for the gospel's sake. However, we must seek God's power in order for us not to cringe.
2 Timothy 1:8
[8]Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
God's power is our stay when afflictions come. May we receive God's power to withstand all afflictions on our path to glory, in the name of Jesus Christ.
